Abraham Robinson Manley (born 13 July 1891) was the son of Oates and Elizabeth Ann Manley, née Robinson. Oates was born at Bradford, Yorkshire and Elizabeth at Barrowford, Lancashire.

1901 Hanley, Staffordshire Census: 3, Brunswick Place - Abraham R. Manley, aged 9 years, born Skipton, Yorkshire, son of Oates and Elizabeth A. Manley.

1911 Barrowford, Lancashire Census: 6, Carr Hall Road - Abraham Robinson Manley, aged 19 years, born Skipton, Yorkshire, son of Oates and Elizabetn Ann Manley.

Abraham was married to Gertrude Smith in 1915.

'Burnley Express' (25 August 1917)

NELSON SHOP MANAGER KILLED

Mr. O. Manley, of Blacko, and manager of the Burnley Co-operative Society’s butchering branch in Melville-street, Burnley, and Mrs. Manley, have been informed of the death in action, on July 31st, of their son, Pte. Abraham R. Manley, late of Chapelhouse-road, Nelson. He was a married man, of 26 years of age, and his widow and child, two years old, now reside in Brierfield. Pte. A. R. Manley was in a battalion of the East Lancashire Regiment, and his number was 34581. He enlisted in April, 1916, and went out last September. At that time he was manager for Mr. Jesse Blakey, ironmonger, Scotland-road, Nelson, and was connected with the Reedyford Wesleyan Church. A younger brother, aged 18, is now in training at Great Yarmouth.
