Arthur James Denny (born 11 October 1871) was the son of Thomas and Mary Denny, née Baker. Both parents were born at Walsham-le-Willows, Suffolk and may have been related.

1891 Skipton, Yorkshire Census: 48, Westmorland Street - Arthur J. Denny, aged 19 years, born Skipton Yorkshire, son of Thomas and Mary Denny.

Arthur was married to Emily Dawson in 1892.

Grave of 924 Pvt. Arthur James Denny who served with the Railway Service Guards C.E.F. He was born in the town of Skipton in Yorkshire England on Oct. 11th 1871. Husband of Emily Denny of Vancouver BC. Arthur enlisted into the Railway service guards at Vancouver BC on Aug. 10th 1917 he listed his occupation as "Janitor" He died during the Spanish flu panademic of 1918-19 on April 5th 1919 at the age of 47. He was laid to rest in the Mountain View cemetery of Vancouver BC.
