Daniel Quinn was the son of Thomas and Annie Quinn, née Foley and brother of Private William Quinn (729) (q.v.). Their father was born at Dublin, Ireland and mother at Skipton, Yorkshire.

1901 Skipton, Yorkshire Census: 18, Russell Street - Daniel Quinn, aged 9 years, born Skipton, son of Thomas and Annie Quinn.

1911 Skipton, Yorkshire Census: 14, George Street - Daniel Quinn, aged 19 years, born Skipton. [Daniel was boarding with Christopher and Maggie Graham.]
