David Allan Ewart Overton was the son of Thomas and Evangaline Overton, née Hardacre and brother of L/Corporal Thomas Wilson Overton [15422] (q.v.). Their father was born at Sutton-in-Craven and mother at Keighley, Yorkshire.
1901 Skipton, Yorkshire Census: 8, Cowper Street - David A.E. Overton, aged 2 years, born Skipton, son of Thomas and Evangaline Overton.
In the early 1900s the family were living in Argentina, South America.
David sailed from La Plata on the Royal Mail Steam Packet Company's ship 'Demerara' and arrived in Liverpool on the 20 July 1916.
