BEN RHYDDING CAPTAIN KILLED

Captain Edward Patey, Rifle Brigade, who before the war was a master at Clevedon House School, Ben Rhydding, Ilkley, was killed in action on July 31. The fourth son of the late C.H.B. Patey, C.B., of Bickley, Kent, he was 36 years of age. On September, 19th, he enlisted in the University and Public Schools Brigade, and served with it in France. He obtained a commission in July 1916, and was promoted Captain last February.
