Emmanuel Rogan was the son of John Michael and Mary Rogan (née - ). John was born at Wigan, Lancashire and Mary in Burmuda, West Indies.

1901 Preston, Lancashire Census: 91, Peel Hall Street - Emanuel Rogan, aged 16 years, born Bermuda, son of Michael and Mary Rogan.

Emmanuel was married to Isabella Henderson in 1904. Isabella Pyle Rogan married William H. Atherton in 1920.

‘Burnley Express’ (23 September 1916)


Official news has been received that Pte. Rogan, of the Royal Scots Fusiliers, is missing. His wife, who resides at 21, Harvey-street, Nelson, would be glad to receive any information about him from any of his comrades. Pte. Rogan enlisted in February, 1915. In March, 1916, he was sent to hospital with frost bite, but returned to the trenches for the second time in July.
