Official news was received by his stepmother at 19 Neville Street, Skipton, on Tuesday, of the death in action of Private Frank Smith, Duke of Wellington’s Regiment, eldest son of the late Mr. William Smith, of 10 Castle Street, Skipton. Deceased, who was 21 years of age, first went to France in February, 1916, and returned to the Front in April last after suffering from trench feet. He formerly worked for Mr. Wilkinson, farmer, Snaygill.
