The many friends of Mr. J. Ponting, of Mortimer, Berks, who was for many years general manager of the Craven Bank at Skipton, and afterwards district general manager for the Skipton Branch of the Bank of Liverpool (after the amalgamation of the two banks), will regret to learn that he has received a letter from the Front stating that his son, Pte. Geoffrey Ponting, has been killed. This is Mr. Ponting’s second bereavement, another son, Harold, having been killed some time ago while serving with the Liverpool Scottish.
