CREIGHTON – Killed in action on the 15th April, 1918, Private George Creighton, Duke of Wellington’s Regiment, late of Settle, aged 36 years. The dearly beloved husband of Ethel Creighton, Victoria Street, Settle.

Notification has been received that Private George Creighton (Baynes), Duke of Wellington’s Regiment, was killed in action on the 15th April last. The deceased soldier prior to joining up was in the employ of Messrs Tatham and Son, Settle. He leaves a widow for whom much sympathy is felt, and letters have been received by her from comrades and N.C.O.’s of the Battalion to which he belonged expressing their sorrow and sympathy.

Settle Soldier Killed

Notification has been received that Private George Creighton (Baynes), Duke of Wellington’s Regiment, was killed in action on April 15th last. The deceased soldier, prior to joining up, was in the employ of Messrs. Tatham and Son. He leaves a widow, for whom much sympathy is felt, and letters have been received by her from comrades and N.C.O.’s of the battalion to which he belonged expressing their sorrow and sympathy with the widow.
