Harold Veevers (born 19 January 1894) was the son of Robert and Hannah Veevers, née Wilkinson. Both parents were born at Foulridge, Lancashire. Robert was the uncle of Ann Grindrod, née Veevers, the mother of Private Thomas Albert Grindrod (52965) (q.v.). Harold was the cousin of Gunner James Hartley (112768) (q.v.).

FOULRIDGE

MEMORIAL SERVICE – On Sunday morning last a memorial service was held at the Wesleyan Chapel for two young men whose deaths were made known to their relatives last week. Gunner Wm. Banks, R.F.A., died in hospital from wounds caused by an accidental explosion behind our own lines. He was the only son of Mr. Henry Banks, jun., barber, of Skipton Road, who is also in the army in the R.A.M.C. The other, Pte. Harold Veevers, the youngest son of Mr. Robert Veevers, of 18, Station Road, and was killed in France during the recent fighting.
