Henry Armistead Storey was the son of Frederick and Maria Storey, née Armistead. Frederick was born at Spennithorne, Yorkshire and Maria at Warcop, Westmorland.

1901 Barden, near Leyburn, Yorkshire Census: Barden Lane - Henry A. Storey, aged 8 years, born Downholme, son of Frederick and Maria Storey. [Henry's family were living with his grandfather, Henry Storey, widower.]

1911 Constable Burton, Yorkshire Census: Studdah - Henry Storey, aged 17 years, born Walburn Hall, Downham. [Henry was living with his uncle and aunt, William and Elizabeth Jane Storey.]
