Henry Wild was the son of Henry and Margaret Elizabeth Wild, née Bousfield. Henry, senior, was born at Hummerbeck, West Auckland, Co. Durham and Margaret at Brough, Westmorland.

1901 Hawes, Yorkshire Census: White Hart Hotel - Henry Wild, aged 6 years, born Hawes, son of Henry and Margaret E. Wild.

1911 Barnard Castle, Co. Durham: North Eastern County School for Boys, Newgate - Henry Wild, aged 15 years, born Hawes, Yorkshire. [In 1911 Henry's mother, now a widow, was proprietress at the Golden Lion Hotel, Shipping Brow, Maryport, Cumberland.]
