HIGHER BENTHAM - DEATH OF PRIVATE JAMES AUTON

News reached his widowed mother on Saturday last that Pte. James Auton, of the Yorkshire Light Infantry, had been seriously wounded in the body and had died of wounds received in action. The deceased was the elder son of the late Samuel Auton, and had been three times to France. He was in his twenty-fourth year and was only married in March last just before proceeding to the Front for the last time. His only brother, Pte. Leonard Auton, is also at the Front.

We reproduce a photograph of the late Private James Auton, Yorkshire Light Infantry, whose death from wounds received in action was recorded in the 'Craven Herald' on August 24th. He was the elder son of the late Mr. Samuel Auton, and was 23 years of age.

DEATH OF PRIVATE JAMES AUTON - News reached his widowed mother on Saturday last that Private James Auton, of the Yorkshire Light Infantry, had been seriously wounded in the body and had died of the wounds received in action. The deceased was the elder son of the late Samuel Auton and had been three times to France.
