KAY. – Killed in action in France, July 15th, 2nd Lieut. John Calvert Kay, Lancs. Fusiliers, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. E. Kay, Sutton Valence, Kent, and grandson of the late John Kay, J.P., of Towneley Villa, Burnley.

BURNLEY MAGISTRATE’S NEPHEW

2nd LIEUT. J. C. KAY KILLED IN ACTION

Amongst those killed in action in France on July 15th, was 2nd Lieut. John Calvert Kay, of the Lancashire Fusiliers. The deceased officer was the eldest son of Mr. William E. Kay, of Sutton Valence, Kent, a grandson of the late Mr. John Kay, J.P., of Towneley Villa, Burnley, and a nephew of Mr. James Kay, J.P., of Burnley. 2nd Lieut. Kay was a visitor to Burnley a few weeks ago, but beyond occasional visits, he has lived all his life in Kent.
