FALLEN IN THE FIGHT

BLEAZARD - In proud and ever loving memory of my dear husband, Driver M. Bleazard, Horse Transport, 1/4 York and Lancaster Rgt., who was killed in action in France, November 2nd, 1918.

A loving husband and father,
He was one of the very best.
He sleeps beside his comrades
In a hallowed grave unknown;
But his memory is written in letters of gold
On the hearts he has left at home.

From his loving Wife and Children. Ing Barn, Newton.

[Untitled article]

Though the fighting finished several weeks ago, casualties continue to be received. The residents of Newton heard with great regret, last week-end, of the death from wounds, on November 2, of Driver M. Bleazard, Ing Barn, Newton, who was attached to the Horse Transport, 1/4 York and Lancaster Regt. The sympathy of the villagers and of all residents in the valley goes out to the widow and children who are left to mourn his loss. The news was communicated to his mother, who resides at 5, Railway view, by an officer. Deceased, who was 32 years of age, was formerly in the employ of Mr. D. Byrne, King street, Clitheroe, and was associated with the Slaidburn Parish Church.
