Richard Barson was the son of Charles Frank and Mary Jane Barson, née Robinson. Charles was born at Foleshill, Warwickshire and Mary at Bradford, Yorkshire. (In the 1881 and 1891 Census, Mary gives her place of birth as Pateley Bridge, Yorkshire).
