Richard Farnworth (born 20 November 1894) was the son of Thomas and Sophia Farnworth, née Cronshaw. Thomas was born at Chorley and Sophia at Blackburn, Lancashire. Richard was baptized at St James' Church, Blackburn on the 6 January 1895. Thomas and Sophia were married at St James' on the 2 February 1895.

1901 Blackburn, Lancashire Census: 3, Maple Street - Richard F. Cronshaw, aged 6 years, born Blackburn, grandson of Richard and Grace Cronshaw.

1911 Blackburn, Lancashire Census: 70, Bay Street - Richard Farnworth, aged 16 years, born Blackburn, son of Thomas and Sophia Farnworth.

Richard Farnworth was married to Violet Garnett in 1918.
