Stanley Procter was the son of Charles and Sarah Ann Procter, née Mason. Charles was born at Earby and Sarah at Sedbergh, Yorkshire.

1901 Earby, Yorkshire Census: 59, Victoria Road - Tom S. Procter, aged 6 years, born Earby, son of Charles and Sarah A. Procter.

1911 Earby, Yorkshire Census: 37, Victoria Road - Stanley Procter, aged 16 years, born Earby, son of Charles and Sarah Procter.

The British Army Service Record for Stanley Procter exists but may be incomplete.

When Stanley died his Battalion belonged to the West Riding Division; the Division did not receive its numerical designation until May 1915.

EARBY TERRITORIAL’S DEATH AT GRIMSBY

News was received on Tuesday by Mr. and Mrs. Procter, Victoria Road, of the death of their son, Stanley, a member of the ‘B’ Company 6th W.R. Territorial Regiment, who succumbed on Tuesday morning to an attack of pneumonia in Grimsby Hospital. Deceased was within a month of 20 years of age.

DEATH OF A YOUNG TERRITORIAL

We regret to report the death of one of the Earby Territorials who were called up at the commencement of the war. The deceased is Stanley Proctor (6th West Riding, Duke of Wellington’s Regiment), who died at Grimsby on Tuesday from pneumonia. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Proctor, Victoria Road, Earby.
