SEDBERGH

ATKINSON - Mr. and Mrs. Atkinson, Cross Lane, Sedbergh, have had official news that their youngest son, Stephen, who was reported missing in November, 1917, is now assumed killed. He joined at the age of 17, in October, 1914, the Duke of Wellington's, and was in France from Christmas, 1916, to the time of being missed. Before joining he was employed by Major Upton on the Ingmire Hall estate, where he worked with his father as a mason.

SEDBERGH - Missing

Private Stephen Atkinson, Duke of Wellington's, son of Mr. and Mrs. Atkinson, of Cross Close, Sedbergh, has been reported as missing since the 27th November. He was employed on the Ingmire Estate and joined up at the beginning of the war when barely 18 years of age.
