Thomas Albert Grindrod (born 23 April 1889) was the son of Thomas and Ann Grindrod, née Veevers. Thomas, senior, was born at Colne and Ann at Foulridge, Lancashire. Ann was the cousin of Private Harold Veevers (24512) (q.v.) and she was also distantly related to Gunner James Hartley (112768) (q.v.).
