A SKIPTON SOLDIER MISSING

Mr. and Mrs. Whittaker, of Stirton, have received official information that their only son Wilfrid, of the East Yorks. Regiment, was posted wounded and missing 8th September. They have made several inquiries, but no further news is yet to hand. Previous to joining the Colours, he was on the clerical staff of Messrs. Lever Bros. Ltd., at their Leeds depot. He joined the Army at the age of 18, and after seven months’ training at Brockton and Rugeley Camp, he was drafted to France. Any news of him would be very appreciably received by his parents and sister of Stirton Terrace, Skipton-in-Craven.
