Denis Peck was the son of John Henry and Lydia Peck, née Dowthwaite. John was born at Nottingham, Nottinghamshire and Lydia at Lancaster, Lancashire. When Denis was baptized at St. Anne's Church, Lancaster, on the 17 June 1894 his abode was given as, Ellathorne's Yard.
1901 Lancaster, Lancashire Census: 28, Melrose Street - Denis Peck, aged 6 years, born Lancaster, son of John Hy and Lydia Peck.
1911 Lancaster, Lancashire Census: 43, North Edward Street - Denis Peck, aged 16 years, born Lancaster, son of John H. and Lydia Peck.
