SILSDEN – A ‘Silsden’ Belgian Dies From Wounds

Mr. and Mrs. Francis Meeus, 34, Aire View, Silsden, and late of Louvain, Belgium, have received word that their son, Private Edward Meeus, 11th Infantry Regiment of the Belgian Army, died of wounds at a Belgian Hospital in France on October 11th. Private Meeus, who was 25 years of age, had gone through three years of very heavy fighting. Another brother, Private Leon Meeus, was taken prisoner three days after war broke out. Prior to coming to Silsden the family resided at Draughton.

Belgian Family’s Loss

Mr. and Mrs. Francis Meeus, of 34, Aire View, Silsden, and late of Louvain, Belgium, have received word that their son, Pte.
