Eric John Nuttall (born 5 February 1894) was the son of Edmund John and Emma Louisa Nuttall, née Senior. Edmund was born at Wardle, Lancashire and Emma at Darlington, Co. Durham.

1911 Haworth, Yorkshire Census: 3, Belle Isle - Eric John Nuttall, aged 17 years, born Haworth, son of Edmund John and Emma Louisa Nuttall.
British Army WW1 Medal Rolls Index Cards: Pte Eric John Nuttall, 6757, 19th Royal Fusiliers & 2/Lt West Yorkshire Regiment attached to Machine Gun Corps. Theatre of War first served in: (1) France. Date of entry therein: 14 November 1915. Commissioned 3rd West Yorkshire Regiment: 4 August 1916. Correspondence: Dr E.J. Nuttall (Father) 5, Bright Street, Gainsborough, Lincs.
Early in 1918 Machine Gun Battalions were formed. This was done by bringing 4 Machine Gun Companies together to form a battalion. The battalion then took the number of their Division.
Eric is commemorated on the Haworth War Memorial and in the 'Service Roll of Martins Bank'.
