Gunner F. B. Booth, Silsden

News has been received by Miss Booth, 44 Browfield Terrace, Silsden, that her brother, Frank Bartlett Booth, R.G.A., Wireless Section, died from wounds in No 3 Stationary Hospital, Rouen, on September 4th, 1918. Gunner Booth, who was the youngest son of the late Mr. John Hanson Booth and Mrs. Booth, was 30 years of age, and enlisted in June 1917, and went to France the following September. Previous to enlisting he was employed by Messrs. John Knox, Silsden, as departmental manager. He was a great favourite with the workpeople and was well-known and highly respected amongst the business men with whom he came in contact. He was an enthusiastic member of the Silsden Golf Club, and also a member of the Silsden Liberal Club.

SILSDEN - In Memoriam

A service was held in the Primitive Methodist Church on Sunday morning last, conducted by the Rev. J. Hodges, resident minister, to the memory of the late Gunner Frank Barrett Booth, R.G.A., son of the late John I'Anson Booth and Mrs. Booth, of Browfield Terrace, Silsden, whose death was reported in our columns on September 18th. Special hymns were sung and the organist played the Dead March.

Silsden Gunner Dies of Wounds

News has been received by Miss Booth, of 44, Browfield Terrace, Silsden, that her brother, Gunner Frank Bartlett Booth, of the Royal Garrison Artillery (Wireless Section), had died from shell wounds in No. 3 Stationary Hospital, Rouen, on Sept. 4th. Gunner Booth, who was the youngest son of the late Mr. John I'Anson Booth, was 30 years of age, and enlisted on June 27th, 1917. He was in training in the Signalling Section at Southampton until November, when he went to France. Prior to enlisting he was employed as a departmental manager by Messrs. John Knox, manufacturers, Airedale Shed, Silsden. He was a favourite with the workpeople, amongst whom he worked, and was well known and highly respected by the business men with whom he came in contact. He was an enthusiastic member of the Silsden Golf Club, and a regular member of the Silsden Liberal Club.
