1891 Leicester, Leicestershire Census: 13, Kings Newton Street - Francis Edward Laurence, aged 6 years, born Hellifield, Yorkshire, son of Richd James and Sophia Laurence.

1901 Leicester, Leicestershire Census: 253, Mere Road - Francis E. Lawrence, aged 16 years, born Hellifield, Yorkshire, son of Richard J. and [stepson of] Sarah S. Lawrence. [Sophia died in 1892 and Richard had married Sarah Sophia Locker in 1893.]
