Fred Kimberley was the son of Richard Alfred and Ann Kimberley, née Whittaker and brother of Private Albert Kimberley (32092) who was killed in action, 8 July 1918. Their father was born at London (Middlesex) and mother at Marsden (Nelson), Lancashire.

FOULRIDGE BROTHERS KILLED

Mrs. Kimberley, of 1, Warehouse-lane, Foulridge, has received official information that her husband, Pte. A. Kimberley, of the Loyal North Lancashire Regiment, was killed in action on July 8th last. He had been wounded and gassed, and had only just got into the line again when he was killed by a shell.

His brother Pte. F. Kimberley, was killed in action in Egypt on April 19th, 1917.

FOULRIDGE

On Monday morning this week news came into the village of the death of still another Foulridge man, Pte. Fred Kimberley. He leaves a widow and one child, a little girl. Foulridge is being hard hit just now.
