Frederick Thomas Circus was the son of Robert and Elizabeth Circus, née Peacock. Robert was born at Elsworth and Elizabeth at Eltisley, Cambridgeshire. Elizabeth married Ephraim Chandler in 1903.

1891 Edenfield, Lancashire Census: 2, Eden Street - Frederic Circus, aged 7 years, born Caxton, Cambridgeshire. [Frederick was living with his uncle and aunt, George and Louisa Meeks, née Peacock.]

1901 Barnoldswick, Yorkshire Census: 12, Bank Street - Frederick T. Circus, aged 17 years, born Eltisley, Cambridgeshire. [Frederick was living with his aunt, Louisa Meeks, and her daughters.]

Frederick was married to Mary Kirby in 1907. Mary died in 1951 and was buried in Bracewell (St. Michael) Churchyard.

1911 Barnoldswick, Yorkshire Census: 46, Park Avenue - Frederick Thomas Circus, aged 27 years, born Eltsley [sic], Cambridge, husband of Mary Ann Circus.

BARNOLDSWICK - DEATH OF TWO BARNOLDSWICK SOLDIERS IN FRANCE

Pte. Frederick T. Circus, Durham Light Infantry, has been officially reported killed in action in France on January 23rd. He was 33 years of age, and had been at the Front about two months. He leaves a wife and three children residing at 17, Wellhouse Street, Barnoldswick. Pte. Circus was a native of Cambridge, and came to Barnoldswick at the age of four years. He was for some years employed as a farm servant at Aynholmes Farm, but had latterly been a weaver at Mr. M. Horsfield's Barnsey Shed.

Pte. Fredk. T. Circus, Durham Light Infantry, has been officially reported killed in action in France on January 23rd. He was 33 years of age, and had been at the front about two months. He leaves a wife and three children residing at 17, Wellhouse Street, Barnoldswick. Pte. Circus was a native of Cambridge, and came to Barnoldswick at the age of four years.
