THOMPSON – In affectionate remembrance of our dear brother Gunner George Ewart Thompson, of the 53rd Battery Canadian Field Artillery, who died in France, February 9th, 1919, from bronchial pneumonia, following influenza contracted whilst on active service.

If love or care could death prevent
Thy days would not so soon be spent;
Life was desired, but God did see
Eternal life was best for thee.

From his affectionate brothers, Harold and Wilfred.

THOMPSON – In loving memory of our dear boy, Gunner George Ewart Thompson, 53rd Battery Canadian Field Artillery, who died in France, February 9th, 1919, from bronchial pneumonia, following influenza contracted whilst on active service.

In the bloom of life death claimed him
In the pride of his manhood days;
