CRAVEN AND THE WAR

Mr. and Mrs. James Whittaker, of Lumb Farm, Cowling, have received notification from the War Office that their youngest son, Private George H. Whittaker, East Yorkshire Regiment, is reported to be missing since April 10th. Pte. Whittaker was called up to the Colours on the 15th May, 1917, and went out to France on the 3rd April last, only a week previous to his being reported missing. Previous to joining up he assisted his father on the farm.

Cowling Soldier Missing

Mr. and Mrs. Whitaker, of Lumb Farm, Cowling, have received notification from the War Office that their youngest son, Pte George H. Whitaker, of the East Yorkshire Regiment, has been reported missing since April 10th. Pte. Whitaker joined the forces in May, 1917, and went out to France in April last, only seven days previous to being reported missing. Previous to joining up he assisted his father on the farm.
