Harold Edwin Applegate (born 24 November 1891 and baptized at Chapel-le-Dale, 23 October 1892. Abode, Bleamoor), was the son of Eleazar and Harriett Applegate, née Morris. Eleazar was born at Norton St. Philip, Somerset and Harriett at Stanton St. John, Oxfordshire.

1911 Derby, Derbyshire Census: 46, Cowsley Road - Harold Edwin Applegate, aged 19 years, born Ribblehead, Yorkshire, son of Eleazar and Harriet Applegate.
