Henry Knight was the son of Marshall and Isabella Knight, formerly Hacking, née Abbott (a.k.a. Astin) and brother of Private James Knight (19084), 1st Bn Lancashire Fusiliers, k. in a., 1 July 1916; Private Fred Knight (19083), 2nd Bn Lancashire Fusiliers, k. in a., 23 November 1917. Their father was born at Hellifield and mother at Gargrave, Yorkshire. The brothers were cousins of Private James Knight (29465) (q.v.) and Private 2nd Class Christopher Knight (307360) (q.v.) and also probably distantly related to Private Harry Banks (266245) (q.v.).
