CONONLEY – KILLED IN ACTION

Pte. James Foxton of the 5th Yorkshire regiment (Scarborough Territorials) whose two sisters and aunt (Mrs. W. Fairhurst) reside at Cononley, was killed on Wednesday of last week in France by the explosion of an enemy hand grenade.

The unfortunate young fellow, who only attained his majority last month, was a native of Kirkby Misperton, near Pickering, where his parents reside, and was an only son. He was invalided home in June last year suffering from a bullet wound in the thigh, but had been back at the Front several months.

      This is my Great Grandma’s brother.
