RIMINGTON – Killed In Action

Like its near neighbour Gisburne, Rimington has this week to record the death of one of its soldier boys, Mrs. Parkinson, caretaker of Martin Top Congregational Chapel, having received word that her son, Private Jack Parkinson, has been killed in action. Private Parkinson emigrated to Australia some years ago and came over to Europe with an Australian contingent on the outbreak of war. Before emigrating Private Parkinson worked for Mr. H. Jackson, of Rimington. The greatest sympathy is felt for the widowed mother.
