SETTLE - Reported Missing: Now Presumed Dead

Private Joseph Metcalfe Bulcock, 2/7th Lancashire Fusiliers, reported missing on the 21st March, 1918, is now presumed to have been killed on that date. He went out to France in July 1917, was wounded in September, and returned to France in December. He was the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Bulcock, 13 Salisbury Road, Lancaster, late of Settle. He worked at Lune Works before joining up. He was educated at St. Thomas's School and had a younger brother serving who has since been demobilised.
