BANKS - In loving memory of Lance-Corporal Joseph M. Banks, missing since 3rd May, 1917, now presumed killed.

Gone to his rest through the pathway of duty,
Venturing his life that others may live;
Such are the words of the tablet of beauty,
In letters immortal in honour we give.

From him loving Sisters, Ettie and Kate; also his brother Jim, somewhere in France; and brothers-in-law Jack and Will.

BANKS - In loving memory of Lance-Corporal Joseph Banks, 2nd Duke of Wellington's, killed in action in France May 3rd, 1917, aged 22 years.

Until we meet again
Where no farewell tears are shed.

From his loving Aunt and Uncle and Walter and Frank, Terns Street, Giggleswick.

BANKS - In loving memory of Lance-Corporal Joseph Banks, killed in action in France May 3rd, 1917.

Fondly we loved him - he is dear to us still,
But in grief we must bend to God's Holy Will;
Our sorrow is great, our loss hard to bear,
But the angels, dear brother, will guard you with care.

From Mrs. W. Clay and Brother-in-law, Middle Craven Road. Settle.
