Private Norman Hyde, Skipton

Private Norman Hyde, Worcestershire Regiment, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Hyde, 5, Bennett Street, Skipton, was, we regret to say, killed in action on April 20th. He was only 19 years of age and had been in France since February last. Previous to enlistment in February, 1917, he was a weaver at Messrs. Clegg’s, Union Shed, and was a member of the Congregational Young Men’s Class. His elder brother, Private Harold Hyde, lost his right hand in the war about a year ago and is now discharged.

Pte. N. Hyde Killed

Pte. Norman Hyde, of the Worcestershire Regiment, son of Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Hyde, 5, Bennett Street, Skipton, was killed in action on April 20th. Pte. Hyde, who was 19 years of age, enlisted in February, 1917, and went out to France in February, 1918. He, was formerly employ as a weaver by Messrs. Clegg, Union Shed, Skipton. He was also a member of the Young Men’s Class at the Congregational Church. Another brother, Pte. Harold Hyde, of the West Riding Regiment, lost his right hand in May last year, and has since been discharged.
