Patrick Carroll was the son of Bryan and Bridget Carroll (née Breslane?) and brother of Private John Carroll (5841) (q.v.). Their parents were born in Co. Sligo, Ireland.

Patrick was married to Ellen Quigley in 1900.

CARROLL - September 30th at York Military Hospital, 165237 Patrick Carroll, aged 50 years, and of 32, Westgate, Skipton.

We reproduce photograph of Pte. Pat Carroll, of the 3/6th Duke of Wellington's, Regt., who died following pneumonia, on the 30th September, 1917, in York Military Hospital. Pte. Carroll, whose widow lives at 32, Westgate, Skipton, joined up on July, 1915.

[The photograph reproduced in the 'Craven Herald' is the same one that has been used for his brother John Carroll in the CPGW book.]
