Sleep on, dear brother, in a soldier's grave,
Your life for your country you nobly gave;
No loved ones near to say good-bye,
But safe in God's keeping now you lie.
Some day we hope to meet you
Some day we know not when,
To clasp your hand in the Better Land,
Never to part again.
