Robert Edward Tennant was the son of Gilbert Edward and Helen Tennant, née Garnett. Gilbert was born at Headingley and Helen at Bingley, Yorkshire. Robert was the cousin of Lieutenant John H.A. Tennant (q.v.) and Captain Arthur Noel Edwards (q.v.).

THE ROLL OF HONOUR

CAPT. ROBERT E. TENNANT, King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert E. Tennant, of Heath Old Hall, Wakefield, was killed in action on August 28th. The late officer, who would have been 21 years of age yesterday, joined the Army on August 14th, 1914. He was educated at Eton.
