Thomas Henry Pearce Gazzard (born 20 September 1898) was the son of Fanny Gazzard who was born at Kelvedon, Essex c. 1873, the daughter of Henry and Mary Ann Gazzard, née Deeks. Thomas was the cousin of Lance Corporal Reginald Percy Gazzard (16418) 1st Bn Essex Regiment, killed in action, 14 August 1918.

1911 Kelvedon, Essex Census: London Road - Harry Gazzard, aged 12 years, born Kelvedon, son of Fanny Gazzard (single).
Thomas's mother died in 1912 and he may have gone to live with his uncle and aunt, Henry and Emma Gazzard, née Crampin, who were both employed by Giggleswick School in 1911.
On the Giggleswick War Memorials Thomas is named as Thomas Henry Pierce - a Harry T. Pearce is commemorated on the Kelvedon War Memorial.
