INGLETON – WAR ITEMS: ANOTHER DEATH IN THE DARDANELLES

The following time-expired Territorials (6th Duke of Wellington's) are now at home:- Corporal T. Walker,
Corporal J. T. Marsden, Pte. J. T. Bradley, Pte. T. Redhead, Pte. S. Hobbs.

The first four have spent nearly a year at the Front. Pte. G. Wadeson is home on sick leave and Pte. H. Duncan on furlough. Several of the men, who recently attested under Lord Derby's scheme, received their armlets on Monday last. On Saturday Mr. H. Nash attested at Lancaster, and Mr. H. Slinger made a second attempt, but was rejected on medical grounds at Settle. Mrs. Warren, who resides at the Model Village, received intimation from the War Office on Tuesday evening that her husband was killed in the Dardanelles on December 18th. Pte. Warren, who was in the Border Regiment, leaves six young children as well as a widow to be cared for by the nation.
