Skipton National Reservist Dies in Egypt

After three years' Foreign Service, Private William Arthur Bebee, whose wife and little boy live at 112 Keighley Road, Skipton, has fallen a victim to dysentery, his death having taken place in hospital at Cairo on October 10th. Like many other brave fellows who have sacrificed their all in the war, Private Bebee felt he ought to do his 'bit' and he enlisted four years ago in the National Reservists. For two years he was on guard duty at a Turkish prisoner of war camp in the East, but about twelve months ago he was transferred to the London Regiment, and had since taken part in the historic fighting in Palestine with General Allerby's Army. He was 39 years of age and an old Skipton Territorial, and was formerly a loomer and twister at Firth Shed, Skipton (Messrs. Dixon). His brother, Private Harold Bebee, was killed two years ago.
