Charles Fearn (born 29 January 1882) was the son of Joseph and Ann Fearn, née Jones. Joseph was born at Leighton Buzzard and Ann at Wingfield, Bedfordshire. When Charles was baptized at Barnoldswick (26 February 1882), the family were living at Town Head.
