A FORMER GARGRAVE LAD PAYS THE PRICE

News has reached Keighley of the death at the front of Sergeant Edwin Smith, R.F.A., one of the three soldier sons of Mr. David B. Smith, Keighley’s joint stationmaster, and formerly stationmaster at Gargrave. Before the war he was employed by Messrs. Ehrenbach, Brumm and Co., Bradford. Enlisting in October 1915, he went to the Front in January last, earning the Military Medal. He was connected with the Albert Street Baptist Chapel, Keighley, where for some time he was the energetic secretary of the Literary Society, and was also a member of the Bradford Operatic Society. He was aged 29 years.

News has reached Keighley of the death at the front of Sergt. Edwin Smith, R.F.A., one of the three soldier sons of Mr. David B. Smith, Keighley’s joint stationmaster, and formerly stationmaster at Gargrave. Before the war he was employed by Messrs. Eprenbach, Brumm and Co., Bradford.
