AMBLESIDE – PRVT. G.A. DAWSON

The death from gunshot wounds of Prvt. George Albert Dawson, second son of Mr. Daniel Dawson, of Wansfell Terrace, Ambleside, has been officially notified by the War Office. He was 19 years of age, and prior to enlisting was employed by Mr. Capstick, of Dowbiggin Foot, Sedbergh. He enlisted in November last year in the Yorkshire Light Infantry, from which he has been transferred to the machine gun section, and has been in France since April last. Death took place in the South Midland Casualty clearing station from internal gunshot wounds.
