Private Herbert Smith (Duke of Wellington’s), killed April 13th, was 27 years of age and the only son of Mr. and Mrs. William Smith, 47 Leonard Street, Barnoldswick. He had been at the front nearly two years, and was formerly employed by his father in the plastering trade.
