BARNOLDSWICK SOLDIER KILLED

Confirmation was received last weekend of an unofficial report received some days previously concerning the death of Private James Ormerod Tattersall, of the West Riding Regiment (Lewis Gun Team), who was killed in action in France on December 14th. He was 23 years of age and the son of Mr. James Tattersall, 11, Leonard Street, Barnoldswick. Pte. Tattersall only returned to France on December 5th. He had previously been slightly wounded in July last, and spent two months in a base hospital.
