John Watson was the son of John and Mary Elizabeth Watson, née Titterington. John, senior, was born at Pimlico, Clitheroe, Lancashire and Mary at West Bradford, Yorkshire. John, junior, was related to Private Albert Titterington (38909) (q.v.) and his sister, Maria, was married to Private John Sibson (32267) (q.v.).
