John William Wellock was the son of Jenkinson and Ellen Wellock, née Moore. Jenkinson was born at Hebden and Ellen at Holes Beck, Hartlington, Yorkshire.
1901 Hebden, Yorkshire Census: High Garnshaw - John W. Wellock, aged 4 years, born Hebden, son of Jenkinson and Ellen Wellock.
1911 Glusburn, Yorkshire Census: Croft Street - John William Wellock, aged 14 years, born Linton-in-Craven, Yorkshire, son of Ellen Wellock (married).
In the 1911 Census, John’s father was boarding at 2, Hardwick Street, Keighley with Adeline Linton (a widow) and her children. Ellen died in 1917 and he married Sarah Adeline Hayward (this was her maiden surname) in 1919.
